SUMMARY:Baraboo River Planning Meeting at the Reedsburg Library
DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Baraboo River invite you to their Tuesday\, October 27th meeting at the Reedsburg Library from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to bring communities together to discuss ways to promote and protect the Baraboo River. This absolute quiet treasure that captures the beauty of south central Wisconsin along its shores can become an economic driver for the communities through which it travels. Quite telling was the fact that individuals from 5 different states were among the paddlers in last July's Lazy Beaver Race (La Valle to Reedsburg). \n\n \n\nAs you may know\, the Friends of the Baraboo River have been working to enhance use of the river through its efforts with the National Park Service to designate the Baraboo River as a National Water Trail. It already is a State Water Trail. In the next two weeks we will be installing consistent signage at each landing which will help individuals learn more about the river\, share ways to paddle safely\, and provide information on aquatic invasive species. Now we need your help to build better together. \n\n \n\nPlease bring your ideas to the meeting on the 27th. We hope that this will be the beginning of great things to come for your communities and organizations. Snacks and beverages will be provided. The meeting will be facilitated by Morgan Mc Arthur from UW Extension. \n\n \n\nPlease RSVP to Joe Van Berkel at vanberk2@gmail.com
