SUMMARY:Lazy Beaver Canoe & Kayak Race
DESCRIPTION:The Reedsburg Kiwanis is sponsoring the 19th Annual Lazy Beaver Canoe and Kayak Race on the Baraboo River on Saturday\, July 27\, 2019. The race's starting point is in LaValle on the south side of the river\, east of the Highway 58 bridge. The finish line is at the Granite Avenue boat landing in Reedsburg\, where the awards ceremony and post-race picnic are also held.\n\n\n\nThe race begins at 10 a.m. with paddlers released in timed intervals in order to space out paddlers on the river\, which is narrow in many spots. You may register by filling out this form and returning it to: Reedsburg Kiwanis\, P.O. Box 542\, Reedsburg\, WI 53959 or dropping it off at the Reedsburg Chamber of Commerce office on Railroad Street in Reedsburg. The entry fee is $20 per paddler up until July 14. After that the entry fee is $25 per paddler. The entry fee includes a t-shirt and a picnic lunch of sandwiches and pop after the race. Early entry is encouraged as it helps Kiwanis in pre-race planning.\n\n\n\nAny profits from the race go toward river-related improvement efforts. Last year Kiwanis donated $500 to the Friends of the Baraboo River to support their effort of getting the Baraboo River declared a National Water Trail.\n\n\n\n\n\nAnyone wishing more information may contact race director Jeff Seering at (608)524-2987 or email him at seerjeff@yahoo.com .\n\n\n\nClick on the link below to download a registration form: \n\nhttps://chambermaster.blob.core.windows.net/userfiles/UserFiles/chambers/800/File/LazyBeaverCanoeKayakRaceform2019.doc\n\n\n\nDownload a copy of the "Paddle the Baraboo River Guide & Maps" provided by the UW-Extension here:\n\nhttp://sauk.uwex.edu/files/2016/11/Paddle-the-Baraboo-Map.pdf
