“Wisconsin Idols” is the topic of the presentation by author and journalist Dean Robbins, on Sunday March 15 at 1:00 p.m.
Robbins moved to Wisconsin at age 23 with a single thought on his mind: Harry Houdini. His initial journey to Appleton to investigate Houdini’s origins resulted in several trips around the state to find out more about famous individuals with connections to Wisconsin. The result was Robbins’ book “Wisconsin Idols: 100 Heroes Who Changed the State, The World and Me.”
The book offers a unique perspective on a number of legendary figures including Jackie Robinson, Oprah Winfrey, Harrison Ford, Elvis Presley, Orson Welles, and Reedsburg’s own Agnes Moorehead. With photos, videoclips and humorous anecdotes, the presentation establishes Wisconsin as a crossroads for people who changed the world.
There is no registration or fee required to attend the program.
