"Caregivers & Mental Health with Dr. Peter Gertonson". Join us at the La Valle Public Library, 101 W. Main St, for an informative evening with Dr. Peter Gertonson, psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Gertonson will speak about caregivers and mental health, offering insight into the emotional challenges caregivers may face while supporting loved ones, as well as the importance of recognizing stress, trauma, burnout, and the need for support.
Dr. Gertonson teaches and supervises medical students and residents, and he has training in evidence-based therapies including Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. His background brings a thoughtful, informed perspective to the mental health needs of caregivers and the people they support.
