DESCRIPTION:In November of 1913\, while hauling gravel from the Baraboo River in Lyons\, now West Baraboo\, a wooly mammoth tooth was discovered by August Platt and others. In 1905\, a 62- pound round quartzite stone with an eye-bolt was found by William Dennis of Merrimac\, while digging a cellar for his house.\n\n\n\nThese finds\, and the stories they inspire\, shape the history of Sauk County and how we interact with our past. How did these items get there?
