Madison College Reedsburg is offering Building Blocks of Weather: This 3-class series is designed to provide a comprehensive and focused explanation of how motion and energy-transfer in the atmosphere produce the weather we experience. Topics will include weather terminology, general circulation, the role of water in the atmosphere, air masses, fronts, jets, waves and horizontal and vertical motion. Upon completion, participants should have a good grasp of terms used by forecasters and be able to describe in plain English the physical processes that produce common weather phenomena.
