Event Description:Camping For Cans - Reedsburg Boy Scouts Troop 247 in front of Viking Village Foods - Reedsburg. This year marks the fifth year for the Camping for Cans donation gathering event. Our local Boy Scout Troop 247 along with their leader, Julus Paul will be braving the cold and camping out in front of our store.They will be ‘begging’ for non-perishable items all day on Saturday through the night into Sunday. They will sleep in cardboard boxes that they build. This is all done near the front entry of our store. This is their Troop’s version of Scouting for Food and an opportunity to help stock the Reedsburg Food Pantry for the holidays and bring awareness of the homelessness in our area. Add the date to your calendar and stop by with non-perishable items for donation. Last year they collected over 6,000 items for the food pantry. They would like to match or beat this amount again this year! Your Donations x2 Viking Village Foods will match each item collected which doubles the donation size!
