    Event Description:

    The Midwesterners ride the borders between Rock and Classic Country. This premier Roots Rock ensemble from Madison, is the brainchild of Madison songwriter and guitarist Richard Wiegel. 
     
    The band features Mark Haines on drums, guitars and vocals by Ernie Conner, Tom McCarty on upright bass and Richard Wiegel with guitars, vocals, and songwriting. 
     
    Tom Laskin of Isthmus described it as “…refreshingly straight ahead. …stands out in a very crowded roots-rock marketplace.” Rick’s Cafe found it “…hard to imagine…(a band)…that blends early rock and roll, genuine country influences and honky-tonk so successfully.”
     
    You will hear influences of Chuck Berry, Dave Edmunds, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Rodney Crowell, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, Levon Helm, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Joe Ely, Ry Cooder. 



    Concerts in the Park 2011 has been made financially possible through the generous donations of area residents and businesses as well as money raised by “passing the hat” at each concert.

    Location:

    Reedsburg City Park, 200 block of Park Street in downtown Reedsburg.  In the event of rain, concerts are moved to the RACA Building, 1411 Viking Drive, in Nishan Park.
