Former Governor Martin Schreiber will present a program about his book "My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping and Surviving as an Alzheimer's Caregiver". Governor Schreiber’s life radically changed when his wife Elaine was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease eleven years ago, when the couple had been married fifty years. According to the website, www.mytwoelaines.com, Elaine would “gradually transform from the woman who gracefully entertained in the Executive Residence to one who no longer recognizes him as her husband.” This began a journey of caring, understanding, and advocating that would lead Schreiber to write the book, initially published in 2017.
