    Thursday, June 6, 2019, 6-8 PM: Severe Weather-Causation and Identification at MATC Reedsburg Campus, 300 Alexander Ave, Reedsburg. Learn what conditions lead to severe weather in the Upper Midwest, how atmospheric ingredients come together to produce it, good resources to be prepared for it and visual cues when viewing storms. Basics of instability, shear, atmospheric capping and vorticity will be explained in order to provide an understanding of how thunderstorms work and how they produce tornadoes, hail and strong straight-line winds. Rob McClure is the instructor. Cost is $17.50.  Register by calling 608-524-7800 or stopping at the college.
